Synopsis

"A warm, gentle, sumptuously shot gem" - The Irish Times

Documentary: Abbeyfealegood explores themes of love, loss and life through the 16 barbers and hairdressers of Abbeyfeale, County Limerick. With more hairdressers and barbers per head of population than anywhere else in Ireland, this film is a journey from the tragic to the magic.

The film is part of Alex Fegan's trilogy on the tragic loss of small, privately owned businesses in Ireland, looking at three aspects of the national psyche that are being eroded: The Irish Pub (Tradition), Abbeyfealegood (Connection) and The Toy Shop (Imagination).

It premiered on RTÉ One on the 20th April, 2020 @ 9.35 P.M.
